What a difference a couple of weeks can make. Seems Claire was inspired by her bff Ally's mobility and hasn't stopped since we got home- crawling, reaching, standing- even attempting to climb up on a stool. She loves helping to rearrange the tupperware cupboard in the kitchen while mom cooks and is quite pleased with her newfound independence.

A chilly visit to Calgary
Claire, Mark and I recently headed to Calgary to have a visit with Kristina, Cole, Adam & Claire's BFF Ally, who recently moved to Jasper. We had a great, albeit chilly (high of 7!) visit, and took in the zoo, some shopping and some walks along the Bow River. Claire seemed to enjoy her first plane experience (well 2nd....she slept through the entire first flight) and had her first ridiculous security experience when the staff insisted on swabbing her breakfast (because apparently we look like potential terrorists!)

Chubby legs in tights and boots
.....one of the many things that will make the transition to cooler weather seem okay. Claire got dressed up in her new dress and tights from Grandpa Jack for a visit out to Sooke to see her Great Grandma Margaret, followed by dinner at Nanny Mare & Grandpa Bob's, with Great Grandpa Ralph (aka Papa Ralph).

Just because....
It's been a busy few days since we got home from Kelowna. Claire has continued to work on her crawling/sitting up/general mobility- she has her downward dog position almost perfected. Now to just coordinate the whole hand/knee movement. She's had a few birthday parties as of late- her dad's and Auntie Alexa's, followed by her cousin Sumali's party tonight where she got to check out cousin James's exceptionally cool media room complete with recording studio. Of course her favourite part were the drums.

Belly laughs
More evidence of Claire's whacky sense of humour...she found her cousin Coan blowing a noisemaker and throwing himself to the ground absolutely hysterical. Could have been sleep-deprived delirium, but regardless, she was well entertained!

A little roadtrip
Claire just returned from a soggy little roadtrip to Kelowna to bring her big cousin Tehgann back home, followed up by a night in Vancouver where we took in Lonsdale Quay and Steveston for fish and chips. While the weather in Kelowna wasn't lake-worthy, we did manage a quick trip to St. Hubertus vineyard and Claire had lots of opportunities to practice crawling so she could chase after her cousins.
