Catching up

We had fun catching up with an old friend from England, visiting with her family. Claire enjoyed being one of the 'big kids' and was right in there when the Star Wars began.

Beaches and Beacon Hill

While it can't be classified as 'warm spring weather' yet, we've been enjoying getting outside more- Claire had fun 'writing' her name in the sand- it somehow resembled some of the letters in her name!- and having our first visit to the petting farm this year.

Around the house

Drawing (apparently that little scene included a hot air balloon and a collection of small hats); folding (she loves folding. she's even good at folding) and making triangles.

Birthday fun

Claire put on her finest to celebrate Uncle Jonathan & Andrew's birthday recently. Claire loves a party and enjoyed scooping ice cream (and sneaking some off the scooper); delivering (and opening) presents and eating chips! (note: she a) has enough hair now and b) left the barrette in for nearly an hour!)

Lazy weekend

Claire enjoyed a little more downtime than usual this weekend (thanks to a sick momma) but didn't seem to have a hard time getting into it- she parked herself on the couch with her blankie and Sears Christmas toy catalog and had a lovely time turning through the pages. She also enjoyed a trip to the park with Grandma to catch a few rays of sun (and really cold wind!) for a swing and snack.

101 things to do with buttons

Claire's love of buttons hasn't yet subsided....we sort them, stack them, make patterns, choose our favourites. And today, faced with a long afternoon with a slightly tired girl and a mom with laryngitis we found 2 more things to do- button necklaces (with embroidery needles) and button playdough cookies and trees.

Company

Claire enjoyed visiting with our friends from Vancouver and their son Colin who is 2 months older than Claire this weekend. Unfortunately I missed capturing the 'sneak attack hugs' she was hitting him up with at the Museum today, but did manage to get a cute shot of them last night.
In other entertaining "Claire news", I was awoken by a screaming girl at 3 am this week....I went into her room and found her standing in the far corner of her crib....when asked what was wrong she exclaimed "There's a ladybug on my mimi!!" (mimi= blankie)
Apparently she's having some vivid dreams!
