Okay, so she wasn't so scary, but she did make for a cute little tiger-cat, and did consent to being dressed up in her black and orange ensemble for her first Halloween. (and while the overalls weren't part of a costume, I think she could have passed for a little boy in this outfit, so it sort of fits in with the costume theme....) She was besotted with her pumpkin and became quite distraught when parted from it- mostly because she was oh so enjoying eating the stem.

Funny faces
Claire is becoming more expressive by the day.....we have her 'scrunchy smile', her 'toothy smile' (sometimes combined with scrunchy smile), her 'hey,what's that guy over there doing? Nosy baby look', and her 'I'm exhausted but I must keep eating' look. Not yet captured on film are her 'I'm so delighted I'm going to shriek with joy' and her 'little miss cranky pants' looks. tbc.
Messy peekaboo
Claire has recently discovered the joys of peekaboo- usually while eating a meal- which generally entails mushing food all over her face whilst trying to cover her eyes, but she thinks its pretty funny, and so do we.

An October day this gorgeous required an evening trip to the beach. Claire was a bit serious but seemed to enjoy hanging out in the backpack, listening to the sound of the waves and exploring the rocks, leaves and sand (by putting them in her mouth, of course). On the move
What a difference a couple of weeks can make. Seems Claire was inspired by her bff Ally's mobility and hasn't stopped since we got home- crawling, reaching, standing- even attempting to climb up on a stool. She loves helping to rearrange the tupperware cupboard in the kitchen while mom cooks and is quite pleased with her newfound independence.
