Summer in the city.

With the apparent arrival of summer have come trips to the Sidney bandshell for free concerts; a visit to cousin Tim & Debbie's house, and an evening spent at the Saanich music in the park event at Beckwith park. Claire managed to find the single trickle of water still dribbling at the water park and enjoyed styling her hair under it- I'm thinking the fluffy chicken look is working for her.

Claire is exerting her opinions more and more....today it was the battle of the shoes....no matter how much I tried to persuade her it was really more a sandal kind of day, she was insistent on the boots. I fear we have many more of these days in our future. Alas, her will will serve her well.

Island getaway

We enjoyed a little mini-holiday last week to visit Grandpa Jack and Aunt June in Courtenay, followed by a night at Madrona in Parksville. Claire enjoyed the tidal pools and endless sandy beach, and had fun checking out the animals at the Little Qualicum Cheeseworks farm. Some ice cream at the Coombs market, and a little time to practice her climbing skills and she was a happy girl.
